earthwords is currently seeking qualified undergraduate candidates to fill several positions on the editorial board for the 2020-2021 school year. 

 

Founded in 1980, earthwords showcases and structures a community around the best undergraduate literary and artistic talent at the University of Iowa and provides students with the experience of producing a literary magazine in real-time.

 

Positions are also available for editors in Art & Photography, Fiction, Nonfiction, and Poetry, as well as PR Coordinators, an Event Coordinator/Treasurer, a Web Editor, and a Designer. All positions provide great experience in the editorial process, event management and promotion, and how to carry a publication from the submissions process all the way through to the release party. 

 

The deadline is Friday, April 24 at midnight, and the application can be found here: https://earthwordsmag.com/join/

    • THTR:2175 Musical Theatre: Topics: Rehearsal and Performance

      Course description:  Developing rehearsal and performance techniques for Musical Theatre Performance. Performance of full libretto, all scenes and songs from a single musical chosen from the repertory of contemporary and classic musical theatre. Techniques for developing character according to dramatic action of libretto, score and lyrics. Staging and basic choreography for staged concert performance. Exercises, readings, recording, videos. Ability to read music required.
